Ivan Nikolayevich Shulga, (1889-1956), Ukrainian School, Oil on canvas, 'The Pilot', A portrait of a man wearing an aviator hat and goggles, Ascribed verso. Approx. 11 3/4 x 10 1/4'' Shulga was born in the village of Mikhaylovka Tavrichesky region, (now Skadovsk region), Ukraine. He studied at the Odessa Society of Fine Arts and the Empire Academy of Arts in Saint-Petersburg. He was a member of the Association of Red Artists of Ukraine and the Ukrainian Art Society.
