Militaria: a flintlock tap-action pocket pistol / gun by Joseph & William Richards, London (act. 1808-1810.) 2 7/8" superposed barrels with octagonal rifling (bore diameter approximately 7/8".) The action with barrel selecting tap lever and spring-loaded folding trigger (releasing on full-cock.) Line engraved at the borders and with makers' name (left) and 'London' (right), bearing 19thC London proof marks. Walnut grip with vacant silver shield escutcheon below the tang.
