Four early 20thC salt glazed planters of oval form with arrow detail, and stamped Knowles Ltd. Darwen. Approx. 19" long x 18" wide x 12 1/2" deep (4)

Although it was originally believed that these were divot boxes for use on a golf course,
in conversation with Knowles Ltd, they confirmed that these items were original made for as planters for a graveyard / crematorium in Sheffield, the arrows marking the pathway. Our thanks goes to W. T. Knowles & Sons Ltd. for this information.
